Comeback Grit cakes

 
 

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of chicken broth

  • 1 ½ cups of grits

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter

  • pinch of salt, pinch of black pepper, pinch of cayenne pepper

  • 4 dashes of Texas Pete

  • 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese

  • 2 tablespoons of all purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 1 bottle of Mississippi Comeback Sauce


Prep: Bring 2 cups chicken broth to a boil in a pot. Add 1-1/2 cups of grits, 1 cup heavy cream, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, pinch of salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, 4 dashes of Texas Pete hot sauce, 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese. Once all ingredients are mixed transfer to a mixing bowl and add 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour.

Cook: Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to a skillet on medium to high heat. Ladle out cakes onto skillet and cook each side 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

Eat: Transfer cakes to plate and drizzle with Y’all Mississippi Comeback sauce. They’ll always come back for more.!
